Short itinerary for Chanderkhani Trek
Day 01 : Arrival at Naggar
Arrival at Naggar in the early morning & transfer to Base Camp. In the day time, we go for an Acclimatization Trek to the Heritage village Naggar. We have an opportunity to visit the Naggar Castle, Roerich Art Gallery and ancient temples of this beautiful town. The day ends with the bon fire after dinner.
Day 02 : Nagar to Nashala village:
The day is spent in adventure activities like River Crossing and Rappelling at the picturesque village Nashala. Post lunch, there shall be a small orientation session about the preparation for the trek. Overnight stay at Naggar Base Camp.
Day 03 : CNaggar Base Camp – Steling (9,200 feet, 4-5 hrs. trek)
Today, we begin our trek Naggar and pass through some old villages of the Kullu Valley traversing beautiful meadows and the thick forest of pine and oak. We reach and camp at the beautiful Steling.
Day 04 : Steling – Chaklani (Approx. 10,400 feet 4-5 hrs. trek)
Initially we negotiate a steep ascent through Pine, Oak and Birch trees and then continue through a gradual climb through the breathtaking grassy pastures upto Shedu Pathar and further to the Chaklani which is an open field from where the valley exposes the view of the whole surrounding ranges. Camp at Chaklani. (Camp is surrounded by thick layer of snow in the month of April)
Day 05 : Chaklani to Chandrakhani Pass (11,800 feet) to“ Chaklani (10,400 feet 6-7 hrs trek)
Today the trek is a gradual uphill climb through the snowfield till the Chandrakhani Pass, this pass is covered with snow till end of May – a true heaven for nature lovers. The high peaks of Dhauladhar and Pir Panjal Ranges are in your full view. We descend back to Chaklani camp in the evening for an overnight stay.
Day 06 : Chaklani to Naggar
The return journey to the Base Camp is a descent up-to Naggar that passes through beautiful meadows, forests and old villages of the Kullu valley.
